About The Mediocre Black Woman

Where here you're already enough — rest, mess, and all. I created this space for every Black woman who's ever been asked to shrink, over-perform, or prove herself just to be seen. The Mediocre Black Woman is an ecosystem built on rest, visibility, strategy, and community. A digital sanctuary where storytelling, spirituality, and real resources live together under one roof, so Black women can feel seen without needing to prove a thing. Part shade, part sanctuary: storytelling, spirituality, resources, and real talk for those who are done proving.

Meet Goddess Theadora

The creative force behind The Mediocre Black Woman, Goddess Theadora is a dynamic host, writer, and advocate for authentic storytelling. With over a decade of experience in Learning and Leadership Development, she has dedicated her career to creating transformative spaces where growth, culture, and real conversations can thrive.

Goddess Theadora has led impactful leadership development initiatives within some of the world's most influential and innovative tech companies, bringing a unique lens to leadership rooted in culture, healing, and self-discovery. Her work focuses on more than just professional skill-building—she's passionate about how people learn, lead, and show up authentically in all areas of life.

There was a time she swallowed her truth so others could stay comfortable. She mastered the art of quiet compliance, mistaking peacekeeping for peace. Then she remembered an ancient truth: Abracadabra — I create as I speak. Every word carries weight. After years of people-pleasing, shape-shifting, and settling for spaces that dimmed her light, Goddess Theadora launchedThe Mediocre Black Woman as an act of liberation — a reclamation of her own voice. Before the podcast ever existed, she wrote in her journal: “What would it feel like to stop chasing approval? To release the need to be extraordinary — and simply exist? Could I still find joy, worth, and meaning in just being me?” That question became the seed — and the movement — behind The Mediocre Black Woman.

We have been honored with a nomination by the Black Podcasting Awards in the category for Best Personal Journals as a Podcast. How exciting?!
