What Is It About an Uncomplicated Orgasm and a Hot Shower?

Hey y’all, As you know, we just wrapped Season 1 of The Mediocre Black Woman Podcast, and with every ending comes a beginning. The Mediocre Black Woman is evolving. Spirit’s been whispering that its time for this podcast and publication to turn into a full Spiritual House. You’ll hear more when Season 2 drops on December 2, 2025, but for now, I’m opening the doors to a new room in the house — a series called Straight Out the Prayer Closet.

This series will consist of collective messages, downloads, essays, and personal reads for those wanting to go deeper. Now let’s get into this one!

Sometimes we’re one inconvenience away from completely crashing out, and the only thing that saves us is remembering we have a body. Not a tool. Not a mantra. Not a mindset shift. A body. And more often than not, that body knows exactly how to pull us back from the edge. And sometimes it’s embarrassingly simple — we just overlook it. So, what is it about an uncomplicated orgasm and a hot shower that makes the world feel less chaotic?

One thing I’ve struggled with on my spiritual journey is the spiritual bypassing I’ve seen, participated in, and experienced along the way. We don’t always sit in or discuss the full challenges we face, and not only that, we leave our bodies out of our spiritual walk. You know, if you just change your mind, if you just pray, if you just pull a card you’ll be fine and God, Goddess, the universe will do the rest.

Recently, I was really feeling out of sorts to where praying, using the cards, and willing myself into higher vibrational thinking just wasn’t working. I even tried to be productive — doing chores and cooking — and that was no good. I was giving attitude while pulling cards, tears while trying to be productive, and finally I paused and tended to my vessel because my mind needed reinforcements.

I ate my dinner, drank my water, and just paused and sat there for a moment. And then after my food settled, I got in the shower, gave myself an uncomplicated orgasm, and let water hot enough to burn the stress away pour over me. And with each release, I could feel my factory settings coming back online. I felt my mind clearing itself like someone turned the volume down on all the noise. I felt my body unlocking the tension it had been holding behind all my worries, all my “you got this” energy.

And then when I sat down to write this, it hit me: I wasn’t just relaxing — I was clearing my sacral chakra. I’m a Projector with splenic authority in Human Design, which is a beautiful gift, but it also means my sacral is wide open. And when an open sacral goes unchecked or gets overstimulated, it picks up everything — other people’s energy, stress, emotions — until there’s barely any room left for our own. And that’s when an overactive sacral leaves us feeling ungrounded, unregulated, and blocked all at once.

What I did for myself was sacral medicine. Sensual pleasure to release the emotional buildup. Hot water — the element the sacral is ruled by — washing over me. Clearing my sacral cleared me. My emotions settled. My mind stopped looping. My spirit could breathe again (in my Toni Braxton voice). And by the time I stepped out of that shower, I felt balanced again, regulated, and restored.

And it reminded me of something we keep forgetting: our bodies are not separate from our spiritual walk. We lean on them for grounding, for truth, for the signals we don’t always want to admit we’re feeling. Our bodies are the ones that feel when we’re out of alignment, and the ones that quietly read a room or a situation long before our minds catch up. When we honor our bodies, we honor our spirits too — because they can work apart, but not for too long.

Listen… I know I’m not the only one who has been one more inconvenience away from shutting down the whole week. So tell me:

  • When was the last time your body told you the truth before your mind caught up?
  • What does your body reach for when your mind has hit its limit? What actually brings you back into yourself?
  • Where do you feel the chaos gather in you, and what practices truly help you release it — not the ones you think you “should” do, but the ones that actually work?

A Lil’ Sumthin’ Sumthin’ for the Journey…

(In the key of Maxwell…)

As we move through this underworld season together, here are three offerings from the House to support you as you walk this message out in real time — in the body and in Spirit:

  1. Underworld Goddessqué: The Season of Release This guide is your companion for the last quarter of 2025 through January and early February — a map for navigating release, shadow work, and transformation. It’s designed for this season, but honestly, you can reach for it anytime you find yourself shedding, grieving, or rebirthing. Think of it as tools for those moments when something needs to die so something truer can live.
  2. Straight Out the Prayer Closet Spirit-Led Readings Spirit asked me to open the doors for a few one-on-one reads this month. So for November, I’m offering nine individual readings — a sacred number of completion and new beginnings, and a nod to a goddess whose energy has carried me through many phases of my life, especially this one. This offering is dedicated to her. These readings are donation-based (minimum $9), and your message will come as either a written reflection or an audio voice note. Bring your question, and Spirit will meet you right where you are.
  3. A Lil’ Sumthin’ Sumthin’ Playlist A little levity to help you reset your Spirit. This playlist is a smooth, soulful mix curated for those moments when you need to step out of your head and ease back into your body. Think hot water, soft vocals, grown-folk groove — the kind of music that helps your nervous system exhale. Listen to it here.

If any of these offerings calls to you, trust that tug on your spirit and click the button below to get a lil’ sumthin’ sumthin’.

xoxo,

Goddess Theadora
