Connect with Dakarai Larriett | Entrepreneur, Servant Leader, Community Builder - U.S. Senate Candidate | Alabama

Dakarai Larriett is an Alabama native — the son of a U.S. Army veteran and a public school teacher — whose life and leadership reflect the values of service, integrity, and resilience. His run for the U.S. Senate was born out of a personal injustice: a false arrest in 2024 that could have silenced him, but instead ignited a new mission.

A lifelong learner and bridge-builder, Dakarai earned a full scholarship to the University of Alabama and spent his junior year as an exchange student at Howard University — a season that deepened his commitment to equity and public service. His career spans two decades of corporate leadership and entrepreneurship, including a thriving pet-care business he built from his garage.

Beyond business, Dakarai is known for his servant leadership. Upon returning to Birmingham in 2021, he became an active voice in his community — serving on nonprofit boards, leading his HOA, and championing initiatives that uplift local families and small businesses.

Grounded in faith and purpose, Dakarai regularly attends First United Methodist Church and enjoys time at the shooting range — a reminder of his discipline and focus. His story is one of alchemy: transforming adversity into advocacy, pain into power, and purpose into policy.
